Innovative medical services/therapy provider in the IE area needs to quickly hire a fulltime Senior Software Test Engineer. MUST be able to design software tests for complex systems up to and including entire facility test documentation. Salary range is 70k - 90k (depending on experience) along with excellent benefits and you'll get paid for OT hours worked!

SUMMARY

Creates software test documentation for complex systems up to and including facility test documentation, in conjunction with hardware product development. Designs test cases to verify and validate requirements are satisfied and documents those results and provides recommendations regarding product release. Designs and develops automated testing capability to improve software quality and testing efficiency. Reports and manages software defects possibly from multiple facilities to ensure they are closed in a timely manner. All software development shall follow company design controls and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design tests for complex systems up to and including entire facility test documentation.
• Creates and executes strategic plans for software test automation of company products with goals of reducing testing costs and improving our software product quality.
• Provides requirements traceability throughout software product development.
• Provides active participation in the creation of Hazard Analysis, FMEA or other test documentation as required for regulatory submission of our software products.
• Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to the requirements and conform to Optivus policies.
• Writes, revise, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program and product evaluation to attain quality of software economically and efficiently.
• Enters instructions into computer to test program for validity of results, accuracy, and reliability, between established standards.
• Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagrams, or flow charts, to determine if program will perform according to user requests.
• Writes documentation to describe program evaluation or testing results and recommend program improvements or corrections to software engineers.
• Evaluate, report, track, and verify defects in software programs. Maintains control of reported software defects (may include multiple facility defect reports) to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner and company policies are followed.
• Provides active participation in software release and change control processes.
• May train software program users.
• Participate in the creation of company products working outside software development specialization responsibilities.
• Provides software integration and testing support as appropriate.
• Provides software product lifecycle support during non-traditional business hours.
• All employees issued pagers are expected to respond immediately to pages during normal business hours and within a reasonable amount of time outside of normal business hours (M-F, 8-5) and within 10 minutes 24 hours a day when on call.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prefer 5 years experience in programming with C++ and 3 years with Python on Unix Systems - not required though.
• Experience with testing database systems is preferred.
• Must work well in a team environment
• Competence with test equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generators, etc. preferred.
• Knowledge of software test tools (Squish preferred)
• Effective interpersonal skills. Excellent written and communication skills required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides team leadership, coordinates or reviews the work of a small staff of software test engineers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BS in computer related field from a four-year college or university and 5+ years experience or equivalent combination of
• education and experience.
• Excellent oral and written skills required. The ideal candidates would have extensive experience with MS Office products and UNIX operating system.

• Ability to write procedure manuals or specifications
