BACKGROUND

One of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations is seeking an Automation Tester/Test Automation Analyst to work within their Fixed Income IT Interest Rates Group, supporting Deal Capture applications.

MAIN TASKS

• Automation of existing manual test cases using existing test automation framework.
• Identify the most urgent business critical tests that can be automated.
• Ensure all automated tests are repeatable and efficient.
• Develop test scripts, primarily using HP Quick Test Pro and also Winrunner.
• Automate test plans covering different areas of the application and also defects reported in previous releases.
• Regression test of future releases, participate in designing test strategies and write new test plans.
• Implement best practises and comply with central testing department policies and procedures, providing detailed descriptions of where it makes sense to deviate from central guidelines.
• Analyse specifications and document requirements and test cases for functional and regression testing.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Previous experience of the financial sector.
• Previous working experience within an offshore project.
• Knowledge of the Fixed Income domain (both functional and technical) including some knowledge of Interest Rate Derivatives, Bonds\Repos, Futures.
• An understanding of configuration management.
• Experience of testing Java web-based applications is a pre-requisite.
• Experience of testing financial portals and/or trading systems is beneficial.
• Minimum of 7 years testing experience with a good knowledge of system and integration testing methodologies.
• Extensive knowledge of QTP 8.2 and above, and how to manipulate QTP via VB Script.
• Design/Build/Implementation of Automated Test Frameworks.
• Experience of Key Word driven frameworks.
• Knowledge of Quality Centre.
• Experience of building and executing tests using Quick Test Pro.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Analytical skills covering business, systems and testing.
• Able to quickly analyse and diagnose problems with the system and detail those to the development team.
• Able to show credible experience of communication both written and verbal including designing test scripts for the software life cycle, liaising with developers and different levels of management.

DESIRABLE SKILLS 

• Experience of other Operational Risk projects
• Familiar with different development methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile) with experience of working in an Agile framework.
• Knowledge of JIRA is desirable but not essential.
• Good knowledge of XP/2003 Operating System.
• Knowledge of CVS\Subversion.
• Good knowledge of Quality Center.
• Good knowledge of automated frameworks.
